The first sighting is always so exciting. It was such a fine spring evening in Texas. We were walking out by the old airport.
I heard someone say it would be a good year for the wildflowers this year since the drought last year killed all the grass. There certainly did seem to be a lot of plants out there, gearing up.
A big part of my job used to be helping people let go of stuff (clutter/hoarding). I took photos of that process for 15 years. Lately I've been documenting other things, events where people are doing something fun and/or good, like gardening for instance. Plants and people catch my eye mostly. I take their pictures as a way to hold on to something good or to try to get something good to happen.
That's me, on the right, reflected in that weird mirrored sculpture in Millenium Park. Michael (in red) is my honey, and sometimes my co-author. Mama (in green) has since given me a better camera. The camera helps me reflect on the other 2, and much else besides.
